Description

My MTP, Crochet Wedding Design, features three distinct pieces; a crochet bodice, satin slip skirt, and a crochet top skirt. The corset bodice is fully lined with luxurious anti-static lining in ivory, upon which I've sublimated vows in a gold colourway. The bodice exterior is crafted from eight panels of Plain Pulse Charmeuse Satin in a delicate ivory shade, and features off-the-shoulder, layered crochet chains with varying techniques. The surface of the bodice is adorned with layered flowers, including innovative laser-cut flowers, with crochet flowers stitched on top. Gold beading adds a pop of colour to the otherwise white and ivory ensemble. The back of the corset is fastened with hidden corset loops and ivory organza ribbon for lacing. The slip skirt, self-drafted, is made from matching ivory charmeuse satin with French seams and a narrow hem, closed with a 30 cm invisible zip and interfaced waist facing. For the crochet skirt, I have incorporated the same organza ribbon to lace up the back of the corset for the adjustable waist band of the crochet skirt. The overlay crochet skirt is worked in lustrous white acrylic yarn, utilising a variety of crochet stitches creating a floor-length A-line shape with a scale pattern design.

The palette is predominantly white with subtle peachy-pink accents, contributing to a soft, elegant feel."

The edge of the textile features a scalloped hemline, adding a feminine and decorative touch. The overall aesthetic is one of handmade craftsmanship, evoking a sense of vintage or bohemian style. The colour is a pure, bright white, which enhances the detail of the crochet pattern."
