Description

The pinafore is designed to sit over an underdress for a girl aged 8 and is made from premium linen suiting stone fabric. It features a lined bodice with the same shape neckline on the front and back and a hand embroidered basket of flowers in the centre using a range of embroidery stitches and DMC threads. The front skirt is highly embellished with large and small flowers, needle turn fabric circles, insects, and Prisma pencils, finished with fixing agent. The pinafore is constructed with a waist band, gathered skirt, tie straps at the back, an open back skirt, and brown marble coloured buttons with vertical buttonholes. The underdress is made from white cotton voile. It features long gathered sleeves with elastic at the wrists and a slightly gathered skirt. The underdress also has a Peter Pan collar with two rows of decorative machine stitching that sits over the pinafore. The skirt is 15cm longer than the pinafore to remain visible when worn together and is finished with inserted lace and edging lace on the skirt and sleeves. The dress fastens at the back with five clear buttons and buttonholes on the bodice and an open placket at the top of the skirt.

"The sleeve is crafted from a crisp, bright white cotton fabric and is highly decorative. It features multiple horizontal rows of finely woven lace inserts, creating a delicate, semi-sheer stripe effect; the lace itself has an intricate floral, patterned design. The sleeve has a voluminous, gathered silhouette characteristic of a puff sleeve style, tapering towards the cuff. The cuff area is further embellished with a band of ruffled fabric and edged with more delicate lace matching the inserts on the sleeve. This ruffled hem creates a soft, feminine flourish. The overall aesthetic leans towards a romantic, cottagecore style."
