Description

The Eclipse Gown features a two-piece set; an ornate strapless, boned bodice attached to a full, gathered lace skirt, layered over soft tulle to create fullness and movement. As an additional element, the garment features a detachable box-pleated overskirt, which not only enhances its versatility but also allows the wearer to adapt the design for different settings, transitioning seamlessly from a dramatic evening ensemble to a refined, understated look. Drawing inspiration from the elegance of the 1950s and the work of prominent designers such as Christian Dior and Karl Lagerfeld, the silhouette reflects Dior's iconic 'New Look' with its cinched waist and voluminous skirt, embodying sophistication and glamour. The garment employs a striking and timeless colour palette of black and white, further elevated by the inclusion of couture-inspired embellishments. These include decorative looped pearl beading that traces the neckline, delicate satin bows and ribbon accents, and a central heat-distorted flower motif on the bodice, which creates a focal point of visual interest. Through this combination of structure, decorative elements, and versatility, the design not only pays homage to historical couture influences but also demonstrates innovation in its adaptability to modern special occasion contexts.
