Description

The textile item carry-on bag has been sized to carry items such as clothing, electronics, and amenities. The textile item uses metal zippers to keep personal belongings secure when travelling from place to place. Pockets inside the bag can hold a mobile phone and sunglasses but can also fit smaller items such as wallets and change. The pocket on the outside of the bag for easy access for items that are small and frequently used. The bag is accompanied by a travel purse also can hold small items such as loose change and keys; the zipper is functional to keep all items secure and safe. The items are inspired by textile items that end up in wastelands and waterways and how it impacts the world. The Japanese culture has provided the inspiration of Boro and Sashiko stitching. Furthermore, the Indigofera plant produces a beautiful blue dye that uses less water compared to modern-day dying techniques has been used to colour the fabric.

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
