Description

The textile item is a bag inspired by the shape and design of duffle bags. To travel and adventure, duffle bags are a practical option as they are spacious, lightweight and constructed of durable material. This functional travel bag comprises of a duffle bag with detachable backpack. The detachable backpack works as both an extra piece of luggage or daypack. Significant for inspiration is the contemporary bag of POPFLEX. These bags are known for their aesthetic but highly functional features. Decorative features screen printed onto the bag are inspired by the post war era using eye catching propaganda. These features along with the art deco styling of bold colours and geometric shapes of the 1980’s retro art. Adventure is a significant theme in the design and comes in the form of escapism to the natural world and advancements of technology.

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
