Pants and Top with Ruffles

"This ensemble comprises a v-neck top and high-waisted straight-leg pants. Inspiration came from Puglia, Zuhair Murad’s spring 2019 couture collection, Australian textile art designer Jenifer Lamontagne and 1950s glamorous Hollywood evening wear."

Images of Work

"Pattern Modification: I modified the pants pattern which created a curvaceous side inseam that features emerald pintuck pleats secured with according beads. The back of the top has been modified to include a semi-circle-like backless effect. Pattern modification allowed my design to showcase the exact vision of all three design inspirations creating a unique and individual garment."

"Hand Embroidery referenced my second contemporary designer Jenifer Lamontagne and her exclusive works with the Australian landscape reflecting different tones, textures and colours in different embroidery stitches. I used embroidery on the waistband to create my unique pattern to reflect my inspiration from Puglia’s landscape and add a diverse cohesion of colour and texture."

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
