Images of Work
"The process of reverse appliqué using hand-dyed silk successfully reflects the inspiration of water ripples and its texture, achieving a delicate pattern that contributes to the interest and success of my Major Textiles Project. The hand-dyed silk allowed me to create varying tones of blue to represent shadow that was then appliquéd to generate the illusion of dimension and visual texture."
"Hand embroidery and beading creates surface texture to the project and reflect my design inspirations of native flora and Susan Hotchkis. The use of French knots creates further interest to the design’s surface and enhances a unique element to the piece. Individual beads sewn throughout the knots adds dimension, texture and interest to the embroidery."
Select Student Folio Pages
The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
