"Pattern making contributed to my design as I was able to successfully manipulate and shape the silhouette. By firstly altering the hemline of the jacket I was able to create a sharp curve to accentuate an elongated silhouette and create organic lines breaking up the heavy structured feel to my jacket. Additionally in adding extra length to the pant leg and sleeve patterns I was able to again create an oversized silhouette through the volume and shape when bound."
"Machine embroidery allowed my design to be more impactful through the dragon featured on the side leg of the pants. The free machine embroidery created increased contrast to compliment the shibori dyed elements of the garment, as well as interest through the lines, shapes, colour and texture created within the design of the dragon."
Select Student Folio Pages
The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
