Description

A short, fitted, lined black lace dress, and a removable tulle and chiffon overskirt, tied with a black satin bow, decorated with ribbon flowers. The project draws inspiration from the full skirts, bows and bustles of the Victorian era, devastating bushfires and contemporary designer Mary Katrantzou’s 3D pop-out flowers. The garments have been created using many challenging fabrics (chiffon, bridal tulle, acetate lining, lace, poly/cotton and ribbon) and difficult techniques (invisible zipper, French seams, and a variety of hem types).
