"My Major Textiles Project is in the focus area of Textile Arts. The dress was inspired by the technological advancements in fibres and machinery throughout the textile industry and the French fashion house Balmain."

Images of Work

"The manufacturing technique of ribbon weaving to create a fabric used contrasting black and white ribbon to produce an aesthetically pleasing pattern which supported the black and white colour scheme of the dress. The created fabric was placed diagonally on the dress which further emphasized the diamond design motif. The weaving added a visual textural feature highlighted by the lustre of the fabric in it's curved surfaces."

"The decorative technique of dye sublimation printing was used for this garment to print a variety of diamond shaped designs directly onto the neoprene fabric. This time effective technique provided the garment with an aesthetically pleasing design that further established the cohesiveness of the colour palette and design motif."

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
