Ethereal Flowers

Gosford High School

Jina Han

"The modernised Korean hanbok I have designed for my Major Textiles Project is a fusion of Korean culture, history and contemporary techniques, featuring a pastel colour scheme with floral and nature motifs featuring a six layer skirt."

Images of Work

"Adding piping to selected seams creates emphasis in the key lines of the jacket. It defines the waistline and draws the attention thus enhances the aesthetic bands of visually textural fabrics which have been inserted into the sleeves of the jacket."

"The laser-cut organza flowers are heat sculpted into their three-dimensional shape through the Somebana technique, then layered and held together with pearl/crystal beads to emulate flower buds. They contribute to the intricacy and sophistication of the design and create a visual element that attracts people to admire the garment up close."

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
