"My Major Textiles Project is a three piece design consisting of a three-dimensional structure attached to a corset top which is paired with a sophisticated split skirt. This garment was significantly influenced by contemporary fashion designer Iris Van Herpen, Vernazza Italy and 1950’s Hollywood Glam."

Images of Work

"Wet felting is the process of combining layers of wool fibres to create felt fabric. This manufacturing technique allowed me to combine an array of colours and to shape an intriguing and unique structure to crown the upper body."

"The back of the skirt features fabric manipulation. Laser cut strips of grey organza are machine stitched in plave to form a geometric design. The folds are secured using embroidery thread and a small, warm toned, lustrous bead. Black ribbon box pleating is hand stitched over the steams of the polyester panel, providing various textures, lustres and strengths."

Select Student Folio Pages

The pages selected for each project reflect the individual students' interpretations of the syllabus guidelines for the MTP. Each student should develop their folio according to the guidelines, relating to their own individual project. This may result in a variety of presentation styles, numbers of sketches and/or experiments.
